Palm Reading – 5 Basic Tricks for Beginners

When you meet someone new, it’s always entertaining to “check them out” using different character analysis techniques – and that’s where palm reading comes into the picture.

Palm reading is an old age technique used to learn about a person’s future, fortune, and personalities by examining his or her hands. In some places around the world, it’s also called Chiromancy. And it not only refers to reading one’s palm or hand, but also includes the reading of fingers, arms, and even fingernails.

If that sounds like a lot of fun to you, here are 5 basic palmistry principles that will be easy to learn – with a special emphasis on attachment, relationships, and love.

Palmistry techniques

  1. Which hand are you supposed to read?

The first question people ask me when I tell them about palm reading is, “Which hand should I read?” The answer is both, but it depends.

The first thing you need to do is to distinguish the active hand from the passive hand. A right-handed individual’s active hand will be his/her right hand, making the left hand the passive one.

And the same rule applies to left-handed people. Their left hands will be the active hands while their right hands will be the passive hands.

Once you have that figured out, use the passive hand to determine inherited potential and characteristics, then use the active hand to determine if the person has made changes to these inherited traits.

  1. The size of the hand relative to the size of the body

Usually, a large hand on a small body suggests an individual who spends more time thinking and less time acting. A small hand on a huge body, on the other hand, signifies an active individual who’d rather spend less time thinking and more time acting.

  1. The shape of the hand

There are generally four shapes of the hand, and all of them relate to the four earth elements – Air, Fire, Water, and Earth.

Hands of people born under the air element are characterized by long fingers, square palms, and clear, thin lines. Such hands signify sociable and intellectual individuals. They are also often restless and love stimulation or change.

Hands of people born under the earth element are characterized by thick or strong skin, short fingers, square palms, and deep, straight, and clear lines. Such people tend to be practical and down to earth individuals with strong vitality.

Hands of people born under the fire element are characterized by plentiful & prominent lines, short fingers, long palms, and warm, firm skin. Such hands are for action-oriented individuals and risk-takers.

Hands of people born under the water element are characterized by long fingers, plenty of fine lines that aren’t always clear, long palms, and soft, damp skin. Such hands indicate a creative and emotional individual. As lovers, they’re likely to be a little naïve, vulnerable, sensitive, and focused on caring.

  1. The thumb

How flexible is the thumb of the individual you’re studying? In palmistry, the flexibility of one’s thumb is thought to signify how adaptable the individual is. The more flexible the thumbs, the more easy-going the person is likely to be.

A lack of flexibility suggests an obstinate individual.

What’s more? If the thumb has a waist and narrows in the base phalange, then the person is likely to employ diplomacy and tact in his/her relations with other people.

  1. The lines on the Palm

A palm with multiple fine lines (in addition to the major lines) signifies a rather sensitive, complex personality that is vulnerable to worries and outside influences.

If you don’t know what major lines are or what they mean in palm reading, ensure you check out this article.

That said, the fewer the lines, the more straightforward an individual is.
